This team is collecting input from regional business partners (via surveys and focus groups) about their needs for entry-level employees to be career-ready. Once the information is analyzed from employers, a tool kit comprised of career exploration activities will be developed. This tool kit will outline common regional activities that prepare students to be career-ready.
The team has narrowed its initial focus onto job shadowing activities. Businesses will be provided support and preparation to accept students for various career exploration activities, starting first with preparation to host job shadowing initiatives. Teachers will be provided with resources and curriculum to prepare students for engaging with employers for successful career readiness options. With a holistic approach to onboarding students to career pathways through experiential activities, a cultural shift in workforce engagement will be made in the region.
